IMG_7266Where you can go in a 1 to 2 Hour Rental: With our 1 or 2 hour rentals, you will be able to paddle past the end of the road, through the picturesque Lamb Islets and see ‘The Aquarium’ where the protected water is so calm and shallow you can see the star fish, perch and sea cucumbers on the ocean floor.

Where you can go in a Day or Half Day Rental :There are 3 Marine Parks along the East shore just North from Pedals and Paddles and they fall within the Mt. Richardson Marine Park. And it is possible to reach all of these Parks in a 4 or 8 hour rental, though if you want to relax, swim and/or picnic, perhaps just chose one if you only have 4 hours. Click on the link above to get details for each park. Note paddling times are approximate and are dependent on weather and tide conditions and paddling ability.Launching from Pedals & Paddles Lamb Bay you are right away into ultimate paddling territory and will pass by the Lamb Islets and the tiny neighbourhood of Tuwanek.  About a half hour paddle will take you to the first of 9 Marine Parks where you will have likely passed many seals and Bald Eagles in the trees watching for dinner.Paddling North you will pass the first of many Oyster Farms (you will see many blue buoys which hold a chain upon which all the oysters hang and grow).  Another 30 minutes North and you will be at Oyster Beach (sorry, the only Oyster here is the name!)With a full day rental you can carry on North another 30 minutes you will approach 9-Mile, a lovely, large site with a creek running through the middle. It is directly across from Half-Way. There are many private tent sites scattered about and is a great place to plan a camping trip.

Camping in Sechelt BCOvernight trips: All 3 Parks within the Mt. Richardson Marine Park are set up for camping, and 9-Mile is certainly a favourite. It can be used as a base camp for several day paddling trips. For more details on each site check out Sechelt Marine Parks website. It is possible to have an enjoyable trip with just one night, however if you have time for more, do try to visit Tzoonie in Narrows Inlet. It is really special. Half-Way is also a favorite for large groups as it has the largest area for tents. It is also a good choice to set up camp and plan day trips from. Kunichin Point has camping in the Bay accessed from Salmon Inlet and on the rocky knoll (which is covered in wildflowers in the Spring). There is no camping on the Islets. Bring water with you, as it is so important to stay hydrated.  Each person should have 2 Litres of drinking water per day. For cleaning, use the creeks or even sea water. Bring snacks too, something to keep your energy up.  Make sure you’ve got a good all-purpose hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, sweater or jacket, rain gear or waterproof top. Active wear clothing that is quick dry or synthetic is the best, try to avoid cotton. Your feet will get wet, so wear shoes that can go in the water (we have a selection of crocs to borrow, but if you have your own appropriate shoes, please bring them). More information on camping in Sechelt Inlet can be found on the Camping page.

Parking: Parking is free when you rent with Pedals and Paddles.

Launching Private boats: Sorry, we are unable to accommodate launching and parking for private kayaks and canoes, unless part of your party is renting from Pedals & Paddles for a fee of $10 per car, providing parties leave and return together. There is a good public access beach just North of us, or Tillicum Bay Marina. Please feel free to come and ask for local advise and knowledge.
